Bobby Z. 11/20/16 second review Absolutely fabulous work. I will never step foot in a guitar center again when it comes to guitar work.”

Absolutely fabulous work. I will never step foot in a guitar center again when it comes to guitar work. Made my guitar feel and play like a dream. He also stayed after close 25 minutes because I was running late. Greatly appreciated.

Bobby Z. 11/18/16 “Amazing Work”

I cant even put into words how glad I am that I found this place. Professional, friendly and thorough. Amazing work

Kyle L. 10/1/16 Wicked smart guys”

Wicked smart guys. David treated my not-so-expensive mandolin with the utmost care. Excellent service, very considerate.

Mark H. 9/1/16 “Wow!! What a difference.”

I brought my ‘92 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard banjo in for tune-up / set-up the other day. Wow!! What a difference. Dave examined the instrument and explained how he was going to adjust the truss rod, angle the tail piece, tighten the head / hooks, replaced the strings with a lighter gage and check the action. I’ve gotta say, it’s like playing a brand new instrument. The action has never been better. It sounds so clean and crisp. Dave and the team at Ann Arbor Guitars really know their craft. I wish I had done it sooner. Great turnaround time and reasonable cost. I plan on bringing it in more regularly to keep it in this condition. Thanks Dave!!

Peter S. 9/1/16 “they are also craftsman”

They are not only a repair shop for guitars, they are also craftsman and take their job seriously.

Ray Z. 11/13/16 “my guitar is playing better than I could have ever hoped for”

I took my 1968 Fender 12 string acoustic in to see what could be done to bring it back to life. It was getting close to unplayable and Dave checked it over and found that with some work it could be given some new life. His evaluation also pointed out a need for more extensive work to be done on the bridge and gave me an honest opinion on the value of putting the additional money into a guitar of this type. They reset the neck and with the new strings, my guitar is playing better than I could have ever hoped for. I am totally please with what they did for my guitar and how quickly they were able to get it back to me.

Philip M. 10/28/16 “Setup is superb!”

Hesh did a fantastic job on my Gibson Stage Deluxe! Setup is superb! Couldn't play or sound better! You've earned my trust! Best of all same day service!

Steve G. 10/8/16 “We are all smiles”

Yeah he's worked on all the stringed instruments that our group uses. We are all smiles, especially Jeff, our bassist.

Ward G. 9/17/16 “They took a lot of time with me and asked all the right questions.”

Hello everyone! I took my 1992 Jackson custom in to have it refretted. I was pleasantly surprised when they looked at my guitar and told me that they could just recrown them instead of replacing them. This saved me almost $300 dollars. They could have just replaced the frets and not told me about the recrown. Super cool of them. They lowered the action and really set it up nice! It almost plays itself! They took a lot of time with me and asked all the right questions. Like "what is your playing style" "what do you like about how your guitar plays" "what's don't you like about the way it plays". Very nice and very professional. They did exactly what they said they would do and finished it in one day! I had this guitar special made for me and it plays better than it did from the factory and this guitar wasn't cheap as I paid $2000 for it in 1992. I highly recommend them if you value your guitars.

Reg S. 6/21/16 “GREAT JOB GUYS!!!”

They did a GREAT job setting up my Breedlove acoustic.......GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

Michael M. 6/9/16 The Factory recommended I take it to Ann Arbor Guitar”

Had a serious 'Martin Pick Guard' issue with my 1974 D-35...
The Factory recommended I take it to Ann Arbor Guitar, as a number of their luthiers were trained in this studio, and they were the most qualified luthiers in my area. Dave not only reassured me that my issues were somewhat common for an instrument from that era, but also explained the why's and how's of the necessary remedies..... I would use the term repair, but he and Hesh actually worked to RESTORE my beloved D-35. Clearly Ann Arbors Guitars are masterful luthiers and craftsmen. I heartily recommend them for any Utah concerns... they are simply the best! .... thanks guys!

Dave K. 3/14/16 “All done with world class workmanship and in a timely manner”

They have done a fret work, reset necks done all manner of setup on acoustic and electric and resonater's for me all played great when they were done. All done with world class workmanship and in a timely manner. Highly skilled craftsmen, world class results, fair price.

Michael H. 4/14/16 “The cost was fair and the service top notch”

Took a new Martin 000-17sm in today for a set up. Guitar was purchased from Elderly Instruments in Lansing and the set up was pretty close to perfect according the guys as Ann Arbor Guitars. I asked if there was anything they could do to make it just a little bit better and they were happy to take a look. They made some adjustments at the nut and saddle to drop the action a little and changed the strings to a different brand (it needed new strings anyway) and a little lighter gauge. My guitar was done in less than 90 minutes and feels great. The difference is noticeable. The cost was fair and the service top notch. Thanks Again!!!

Dan C. 3/15/16 It's butter-smooth now”

Four months later and I'm still ultra-impressed at the job you guys did re-fretting this guitar (with SS frets). It's butter-smooth now.

Mark A. 3/28/16 We are lucky to have these craftsmen here in town”

What a class act these guys are. I stopped by with a brand new guitar and David fine tuned the setup while I waited and gave me great advice on how to care for the instrument. We are lucky to have these craftsmen here in town.

Parker K. 1/29/16 Guitar Center was incompetent as they charged me 50$ and handed it back to me in the same condition.”

Took my 214CE Taylor in due to concerns with moderate string buzz. Guitar Center was incompetent as they charged me 50$ and handed it back to me in the same condition.

They took it in and inspected it, and noticed it had a dried out top. They even noticed I had the factory settings on the guitar! They gave me a full on setup and adjusted everything and humidified it for 3 days.

Came back in and played it and I swear it must have been brand new. I tested it out and they even worked with me to tweak it exactly to my liking while present. I even brought in my other 2 guitars to make sure they were alright!

I would recommend this place to any Taylor owner. It was worth the 40 minute drive out from the Westland Detroit area.
